Knighton is a residential suburban south of Leicester City centre, and borders Clarendon Park and Stoneygate. Originally a village until Victorian times but due to the demand for housing was expanded. Part of the old village centre can still be found.

Knighton Park forms the southern border on the ring road, Palmerston Way. The 78 acre park was purchased by Leicester city council in the late 1930s. This offers a great place to explore with many areas for the children to play, open spaces and sensory garden.

Knighton is serviced by two local shopping and leisure areas. Allendale Road and Queens Road. Both are home to a wide range of brasseries, bistros and coffee bars together with local supermarkets and other shops. There is also a small parade of shops along Meadvale Road. A few minutes drive away are the larger supermarkets located on the edge of Oadby.

The travel inks to Leicester City centre are superb and are within walking distance or just a ride to the railway station, Leicester University and Victoria Park, Knighton Park and Oadby.
